Lorraine Sawyer has been hired as Orbit’s new procurement director.

Ms Sawyer joins the landlord after previously heading up procurement at Anchor and Home Group. She will lead on a major new tender to provide repairs, maintenance and void refurbishment works at the 47,000-home landlord.
Orbit estimates the contract will be worth £225m over five years, though it is also considering three or 10-year deals.
The tender process opened last October and partners are set to be appointed in September, with the aim of starting work in April next year.
Ms Sawyer said: “I’m delighted to have joined Orbit at such an exciting time.
“Procurement plays a vital role in enabling an organisation to deliver great services and customer experiences.
“I look forward to working with colleagues and partners to drive value, strengthen our supply chains and support Orbit’s commitment to creating positive outcomes for customers and communities.”
Jonathan Wallbank, group finance director at Orbit, said: “Lorraine brings significant expertise in procurement and strategic supplier management and her leadership will be critical as we continue to evolve our services and enhance value for our customers.
“Her appointment strengthens our ability to build resilient, socially responsible supply chains that support both our long‑term financial sustainability and our commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience.”
